Pecan Sugar Cookies with Orange Amaretto Buttercream

Makes 22-24 cookies


Ingredients:

1 package Betty Crocker Sugar
Cookie Mix
1 egg
½ C plus 6 T softened salted butter
¾ C chopped pecans
Juice from 1 large orange
Zest from one large orange
1 t Amaretto liquor
½ t vanilla extract
1 1/8 C powdered sugar
Dash of kosher salt


Direction:

  • Following package directions, mix ½ C
  • Softened butter and 1 egg with cookie package mix. Add the pecans. Cook according to package directions, let cool.
  • In another bowl mix the 6 T softened butter, juice and zest from the orange, the amaretto, vanilla and powdered sugar and salt until spreading consistency. Frost cooled cookies. Serve.
